Straits Times: Malaysia considering laws to rein in errant bloggers
Submitted by nart on 7 December, 2006 - 18:42.The Straits Times reports: "Malaysia may introduce tough Internet laws to control bloggers and prevent them from spreading 'disharmony, chaos, seditious material and lies' on their websites."
I think Malaysians don't know
I think Malaysians don't know how to make 'constructive' comments. Just as a teacher who does correction for his students and give 'constructive' comments, so should bloggers who criticize on government policies etc.
Unfortunately people have very little knowledge of this kind of 'know-how' including professionals and therefore it is NOT right to simply blacklist or pull them in.
For example, the Malaysian Flag scandal, though I did not see it, it should had been considered how 'silly' this guy who came up with such idea and have everyone laughing at him. You think anyone in they're right mind will respect this guy? That's enough for him already. Instead, now everyone is afraid that what they do for fun may end them in ruins! So, do we all have to keep our mouths shut - as I mentioned earlier, people are not matured as they should be...no big deal. If the authorities feel threatened, then could be something definitely they try to hide!
Plz. don't pull me in for my view okay? I'm sincere and honest and hope for the best. I also try to be constructive as possible.
